Stop Canadian arms sales to Israel — immediately

Since the launch of the unprecedented assault on Gaza by Israel last October, following the heinous attacks by Hamas, over 25,000 Palestinians have lost their lives — the vast majority women and children.

Continuous bombardment and a total siege has obstructed the delivery of life-saving humanitarian aid to those displaced — depriving the civilian population of the basics to survive with nowhere safe to go.

Israel has dropped more than 25,000 tonnes of explosives on Gaza so far — equivalent to two nuclear bombs — targeting non-military sites such as hospitals, schools, places of worship and residences. Targeting civilians is against basic humanity and considered, by international law, a war crime.

Canada’s ongoing export of military arms and components to Israel is actively fueling one of the deadliest and most destructive wars in modern history.

Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly has the power to halt Canadian-built arms exports to Israel — and end our complicity in Palestinian deaths.

Join Oxfam Canada now in calling on the Government of Canada to stop new arms export permits and put in place measures to prevent weapons manufactured in Canada from reaching Israel — including from parts traveling through the United States.

Restricting Israeli access to Canadian-made weapons, parts and ammunition immediately will ultimately contribute to a lasting and meaningful ceasefire.

Canada must not remain a bystander in this conflict any longer.

Act now: your signature can save lives.

Yes, Canada must stop all Canadian-made arms sales to Israel — now.

Today, I am joining Oxfam Canada in calling on Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly to immediately stop all weapons, parts and ammunition sales to Israel — including those reaching Israel through the United States. Targeting civilians is against basic humanity and a war crime — and Canada must not remain a bystander any longer.
